There should be a limited number of dragons at given time. Each dragon should fly around the map stealing loot, then return to it's spawn/cave. It should never despawn until killed. Upon its death all loot should be dropped to the ground

Or maybe dragons attack villages within a certain radius. In order to stop dragon attacks, dragon must be killed or given sacrifice of blood/loot. All loot piles up at dragon spawn. Attempting to take loot causes dragon to return and follow trespassing scents. Upon death loot is free to take.

First, you would have to have really high fighting stats before the quest could even be found and even then the quest should be incredibly rare. Then after recieveing the quest either the quester has to go to a certain spot and the dragon spawns, or the dragon spawns after a certain amount of time after the quest begins. That way the quester can prepare and maybe get others to come and help. But once the dragon spawns, it will try to kill the quester and if the quester is KO'd or killed, the dragon leaves and the quest fails. The dragons stats will be determined by the stats of the quester.
It would actually give players a reason to complete quests and it wouldn't be like trolls where you could just send alt after alt after it.

+1 to all except dragon won't ko, always kills.
Maybe dragons increase in strength depending on the player(s) attacking it? Maybe increase in strength depending on how many players killed/villages raided. Maybe have some sort of quest after killing dragon to lead to the cave of loot, and to unlock cave you'd need to do some activities (convince X to give you secret to enter cave), than inside lower q loot would be up front, while higher and higher q would be farther back in the den, protected by more dragons/another mob. Another way to get to the cave would be through taking something from a dragon (scales?), a parchment, maybe a dark heart, dream, and some ink to craft some sort of map that gives a limited amount of uses, to lead you toward the cave/den. pls jorb

Probably a good idea if they always kill, meaning a much higher risk/reward ratio, but as has been said dragons shouldn't be just another mob running around reking noobs, but the idea of a dragon's lair or den sounds cool, maybe a cave that only appears after the dragon dies?

Fitting to the setting I think. Has a chance to spawn like trolls. But once disturbed it ventures to the surface and seeks out villages. Would require moving and positioning as the weak spots are on its side?

It is ''wurm'' from Magic: the Gathering, which is like dragon except with no limb or wing.

I see what you mean, but unbalance is one of the big things that plagues this game, and having one or a small group have extremely strong armor that no one else could get, meaning others would always lose, would drive players away.

I have idea for the armor problem, what if the armor was close to best but never wears out/infinite durability?
