The devs are not interested in making the combat interesting that has some depth in it, because that means that it will become more complicated for new players to learn and they rather let it stay dumb af and they think that "they will see more people pvping if the combat system is easy" and right now even with this dumb combat system the effect is quite opposite. The best combat we can get is somewhere in middle between the salem's combat and card combat, with the way they are thinking. I didn't like the new combat system that much, but it was alot better than we have right now and I suspect they didn't bring it live, because it is hard to learn the concept of offence and defence bar for some people. Legacy's combat seems like the most appropriate combat system for such a game like this and according to Dani's survey, combat changes was the most wanted update by the people according to the survey if i remember correctly which they cancelled hue, just, because a few people find it too complicated even when it was way more simpler than legacy's combat.

but yeah, the men can only dream for legacy combat to return :(

I want this too.
It's strange and silly to me that the devs are just flat out ignoring the games main PvP crowd who have been around for years and years, world upon world on what they're saying about PvP, when said players no doubt understand what makes a good PvP system more than them.
The old system was complex, but it was complex for a reason instead of just complexity for complexity sake.

System we have now is so brain dead simple that there's no depth to it what so ever.

If our best work lies behind us in some system we stumbled into ten years ago then we should stop doing what we do. I have no intention of stopping, and hence there is only forward.

I also, for the record, don't think that "easy to learn" and "hard to master" are in any way opposed. I think the best games out there have precisely both those qualities.

I am also not at all comfortable with resigning before some "oh, well, devs don't know what they are doing so let's just settle for whatever was before"-mentality. That may or may not be true, but I cannot accept it as a fact if I am to develop the game further, and must operate on the assumption that it isn't true.

Furthermore, the old combat system wasn't that great. Take off your nostalgia glasses.
