What's your definition of "botting", and what's the ones of the games you mentioned?

any automated task not in the main client, that makes the game easier.

Quite heavy, but not leaving many gray zones.

So this would include showing the quality directly on items, sparing the player from having to mouse-over them?

Yes, well, my point was that adding these kinds of rules would bring about another such situation before soon.

The thing is that it is likely to devolve into a retarded meta-game of who can implicate whom in botting and playing the devs for bans.

i wouldn't call that an automated task, just a feature that should be in the game.

yeah some trolls might try to do that, but again, it isn't about how likely it is you catch anyone, it's just about the threat, that's what im trying to convey. Maybe a week old character will bot, because he feels the risk is worth it, but a year old character wouldnt dream of it. You get what im saying?
Who cares if someone bots, and then says their neighbor does it, what does that change. I thought you liked drama, is this the real loftar or a fake?
Early world exploit: Put your hearthfire inside a cave, then hold shift to position a claim right in front of a cave. After 8 hours the claim will be unbreakable. Since your hearthfire is inside the cave, you can still get back inside, and leave, but nobody will be able to enter, effectively making you unraidable for the first 3-7 days. Enjoy

I am still of the opinion that if botter's want bots they should pay for them, each account is a paid account, no free play at all. yeah, yeah, we lose many players that refuse to pay to play, but I for one would rather be playing with/against (and reading from) other paying players. Not from the whiners that gripe and grouse about game changes when they do nothing to support the games development.

Because you can smell which players payed money and which didn't? :D
Chances are they will be still there and even louder. (Since in my experience many of those who pay expect something for their money)

The request for you to backport certain features of custom clients into the official one (to make it bearable to use) is nearing the age of the one for bridges.

How about a monthly subscription of lets say 15 $ for each account with 1 character per account?

How many would go for many alts in that situation? (Some I guess, but that would cost).

Remember how low the population dropped in w8 because of a sub fee? I guess bots aren't technically an issue when no one is playing.

Thats a lot of money and previous world its a good demonstration. Thiat model is decaying in the online games and you need to give players a lot of good reasons to make them pay monthly. Seatribe its just 2 guys. That wont work.
