You misunderstood every single thing I was trying to say.

You wouldn't be able to claim the meteorite. Everyone would be aware of its existence and location (direction). Palisades that aren't claimed could be palibashed with no catapults.

Local resources too. Nevertheless, village claims are allowed and fulfill their function.

In that case, I would not want to drop a meteorite near my home. Better on the opposite end of the map :\

Yep, then it's not a "war of palisades", but "migration of deers".

Make the meteor anywhere and have a short distance to alert people, means that only locals can fight unless people in faction spread out.

Anyway, this entire argument is pretty pointless, since its the devs that decide whether or not it happens anyway.

Maybe. Depends on the radius of the alert. In my opinion, the absence of a message is more correct, but this leads me to thoughts about the palisade, which is not good :\

Sure! But they can take into account some of the factors discussed.

The fall of a meteorite is a good idea in general. Like falling in a random place (although, in this I see also cons). But when notifications occur, the random place becomes meaningless. With the same success it can be a local resource in a place where it is impossible to build something at all. And, for example, with a random respawn without a clue. But here is also a problem - they can fence the whole area...
A beautiful task, but so far no one has proposed an elegant solution.

If it's about factions, then metal can be a reward. For example, there are local craters where it is impossible to get into and where construction is impossible. At a certain time, kings of 2-3 random realms receive a message with the teleportation code to the crater (as on a chartered stone; one could send messages to village elders, but there are many loopholes). Further all is simple.

i think only small meteors should fall if hit player or building does small dam like 20 chould kill but prob rare, would be hard to get enough to make something the rarest of metals, a big meteor would distory huge areas prob mabye a way to help make perma world? lol

Maybe ordinary players will be able to find small pieces of a meteorite, like gold (just digging the ground; the first gold pebbles I found when I collected ball clay on the shallow)?

Meteorite impacts as PvP events could be fun.
