Improved forum moderation ('Shitposters under curfew')

Thoughts on the further development of Haven & Hearth? Feel free to opine!

The suggestion would give him more stuff to do. I don't think it would be wise to censor the posts before they
are posted. Shitposters would just flood him with crap and he would go mental.

Yeah, dealing with "pigposting" would probably be pretty unfun.

I'd like to correct you on that. First, the flex muscle to abuse power and food good isn't a stereotypical moderator, it is a stereotypical Haven and Hearth Player (if we want to be more correct on specific metaphors). Second, although I can't speak for Granger, I know of a few moderators and myself would love it if no one was causing issue so we do not have to do anything.

As for the alternative, one thing that I realize, after some thought, is that this is a bit similar to some chatroom moderation tool putting them on listener/silent mode so that they can still see but they are not allowed to speak. The difference is that the chatroom variety has a time duration of absolute silence while this version has monitored permission.

Only newbie and inexperienced shitposters would flood crap though.

My status as mostly lurking and quietly moderating hurts me more and more every day, haha.

Yeah, I'm fine with the idea. I have no meaningful input. It'll be just like checking the report queue every time I hop on.

I'm actually on board with both a limit on 'limited accounts' and new accounts as long as the requirement to get out of the new account range aren't too steep.

I do no agree, obviously. But I think this is sorts of thing that can not be argue. What is stereotype is base on what many of the men do think, and we are just two men. So I think you do not ''correct'' any man here. You are not in position to be able to correcting any thing. The fact you are so arrogant to think other wise is disappointing, but I think no surprising.

Permabanning is less work than sifting through the posts of the usual suspects.

Permabanning dosn't work, as some claimed in the Plea thread a short while ago.

Also having to, after handing out a well deserved ban, nuke a flood of freshly made accounts just posting hate and drivel isn't fun too - as is the usual rally of friends of the banned trying to raise an as big mob as possible who with torches and pitchforks 'rebell against the unjust mods' (for examples read through the Plea).

It would be more easy for believing if you do not cause issue for your self to fix.

Disagree with Granger is derail? Or is it disagree with you friend that is?

You ask for more powers for moderating. Fact that you are corrupt with usage of current power is highly relevant to this topic. Obvious you do not want people to speak of your corruption, because maybe even more forum user will notice what a blight you are to forum. But I can no sit idle by and leave appeal for more powers to remain uncontested.

What would be a reasonable hoop for a new account to hop through to reach the status of a current registered user?
