Openings are consistent for multiple opponents, same way bars were in legacy and defences were in old combat. Restorations, no matter who they are used against, effect openings for everyone since there is only 1 value that applies.

Does this in turn affect the battle result of hunting animals as well? It may be implied that you may not be able to hunt anything without being inflicted with some damage.

that's the case apparently i haven't tested it my self, but if that the case hunting early game is much harder now, hunting a sizable cuantity of bats would leave you with some lots of injuries (maybe easy to heal wounds but the hhp loss stacks quickly at spruce cap lvl)
