This idea is meant to change that. What are you talking about

Dowsing rod should stay as it is, perhaps make some kind of foragable which would allow you to check the quality of water below you instead - rustroot style.

That is fine too. I do not care of implementation. But I think it is very silly that I can prospect dirt and clay quality but not water wall quality. Especially now that well is better than open waters because of magic.

oh but you can check water quality - in the river - where you can actually access it. Next you will demand for rustroot to show quality of ore which is underground too, BECAUSE you can check soil and clay quality.

This thread is about wells. And you are talking about rivers. :|

Sorry I make typo in my post. I say ''water wall quality'' where I am meaning ''water well quality.'' I think maybe you make your reply based on my typo because I can not check this water well quality without build well.

Sure, this could be good idea too. I think maybe you can make separate thread for this one though.

if my way of thinking is so wrong and yours is so good why was it not implemented yet? (same topic was on forum already, title just was "repurposing dowsing rod"?)
I am all in for ideas which actually make the game more fun, or add more possibilities, but i think if you want to find that good quality water put some effort in and build few wells to find the right one, its something you are gonna use for a long time so there is actually a profit in investing time.

By this logic game is already in final state.

I must have miss this thread, what did developer have to say here about idea?

There is a line to be drawn between effort and ease. If some trivial thing is too difficult, this is tedious. I think to farm hundreds of ropes is excessive to find good well especially when compare to difficulty of find good dirt or clay. If your opinion of fun is ''harder = more fun,'' then we must simple agree to disagree here. I can not argue with a feeling.

Yes.
Or give even some reasons why not

No. Probing for good water sources shouldn't be trivial.
