Why is there a reason to make swamps dangerous? Seriously? We need that original idea of our hearthlings dying randomly in their sleep.

I'm pretty sure I read that in the annals of one of my ancestors, the part where he fought an alligator barehanded while stuck neck deep in a germanic moor.

On a more serious note, I'd like them age of empires style, hiding in shallow water or, sandbanks. Swamp alligators only when reeds or other shrubbery are added.

Link or it didn't happen. Additionally the roman army came from the other side of the continent.
