The only way i see to prevent that, without changing the current system is one character per account and montly subscription to play.

should be disabled by making the character unable to grab something from a localized resource for a certain time (10 minutes minimum) after logging in, the time getting longer the nearer the HF (or the character login location) is to resource (and extra penalty in case the character did little except harvesting localized resources).



I like the idea.
10 mins before you can harvest timer. is all we need. no need to add the distance part.
and make gathering the resource take 1min long.

I was chased by a dude for a while after taking that pic. Ice was 10 days out he still chased me to my boat before i got away. There are murder scents all over that mountain btw.

Localized resources should just be removed.
They are just dumb.

People abuse them and build walls around them, or then just grab them by alts.

What they are even intended to do? Other than make more people use alts and exploit.

They're supposed to bring people out interacting at certain times, it's jorbs way of forcing drama. Except it doesn't much work for that and instead we get alts exploits galore and ugliness and completely restricting the resources away from hermits and the like.

Can we just treat them like nettles or something and require crazy high exploration and perception? Have them spawn again elsewhere like everything else in the game operates.

It may not be "logical" but from a gameplay experience but it would at least be consistent.

make harvesting localized resources take a couple minutes or something so that alts cant just harvest it and quickly log off then make it so that you cant build any kind of claim near it at all and then have other structures near it decay at an accelerated pace it wont stop people from walling it in but itll make it more of a hassle cuz they will have to build larger perimeter walls the only real way to stop walling in of resources by just anybody is to make sieging better so that the walls can be taken down alternatively maybe have the localized resources check to see if they are encircled by structures and if so decay them very quickly though i imagine this solution might strain the servers a bit

Just remove them or disable the possibility to build claims/walls near them.
They do not force interaction if they get blocked or camped by alts.
