I definitely think that more differentiation in animals could be a good and fun thing, but I don't really see it as worthwhile with our present art resources, i.e. myself. I spend a fair bit of time per animal as is -- meat, resources, produce, icons, animations, &c&c -- and I'm not thrilled about adding more per unit for relatively marginal benefit. Scaling and whatnot could perhaps be done, but that would at least require some looking into, given that we can't presently scale animations in any good way.

Ideally, though, I think and agree that the future for animals would lie in more or less generated fur textures, and itemized body parts which could be parameterized in size and color and such.

Requires a significant rework, in any event.
