This have been working since I play and its a part of it.
What players need is a tutorial so newbs can do it 2.

Personally I'd rather not see the devs adding further complications to an already steep learning curve new players have to deal with.

I wasnt serious there Ven.
My opinion is that this kind of thing needs to be solved.
As you say the steep learning curve is hi so marked that when it comes to combat, with such things as those signposts while beeing chased or the killer fences, lots of players abandon the game when they die at hands of the same people world after world.
Its a cancer but there is nothing to be done because there is no will to do it. Its disheartening.

^^Well you know how it is.
In this game, as in life,
we can't have nice things.

And if you do have nice things, you better be ready to be raided, unless you are part of a major faction.

just prevent placing any signpost in a radius around any character in combat. You can argue that now someone will aggro their friend and camp someones wall, but the range of this building debuff would be like a mine support.

Adding a hourglass to placing signs is a decent idea, the issue is the annoyance it adds to everything besides combat. Should also take into account the fact that once pushout is added, collision won't be such a binary thing anymore and that might make signpost tactics less useful.

I could be tempted to agree that it's ugly that building signs are used, but I'm not sure I hate the mechanic as such.

It was disabled by construction sites without materials no longer being blocking movement, wasn't it?

Yes, noone places signs and builds 1 material and if they do then it's deserved because I haven't seen it in any pvp video so far, which means its fixed compared to the early world 10 leanto tricks :D
