Localised resources could simply emit massive decay that doesn't care for claims within view distance.

So yes, you could claim them, but not with a small box (without repairing it constantly). You could integrate one into your village, but you would have to pay the price. You could setup knarr signs, but they wouldn't last long.

There was an explicit intention to make it possible to control them, so that there could be conflicts over them.

It doesn't work, because:
- it takes more than 4 hours to take over them;
- too much effort for a local res that is everywhere.

Sure, but perhaps those are the problems that should be addressed, rather than make it so that any nub can get the resources. I'm not convinced that they should be readily accessible to anyone. My experience is also that you can get pretty much any of the localized resources if you actually work for it.

anything built near local resources decays within 12 hours??? that messages comes up as a lore giving 500 exp for the first time and never again

tell that to my plot claim and former palisades that went directly up to a resource and blocked 2 sides of it (still does unless you wanna trespass to use it)
