Folkhemmet ;) Do you prefer the ideas of the Third Reich?

Just because I dislike the idea of socialism does not mean I support the ideas of the Nazi party.

The cost/reward for sieges make sieging virtually pointless mate.

So if it is "virtually pointless" to siege an area for resources, then clearly you have all the resources you need.

Tell me, Trev, have you *ever* sieged a defended city since shields were implemented?
How about an undefended one?

Fairly certain he hasn't even played Hafen, last I saw him was w7, gave him 1 of the bots i used and he fucked off to one of my ally's villages then quit. Once a low-end, will stay a low-end.

You are fairly wrong.

@ Robben
No I have not sieged a city in Hafen, but I do understand how claim shields work. It is obvious that the system needs work, but that's what its there for.

I do like the idea you mentioned of natural resources randomly spawning.
You can't completely stop people from claiming them though. That is literally one of the core ideas of being able to claim land as your own. Expansion for industry, farming, plots/community housing, RESOURCES, etc!

So you're trying to say bashing a wall for ~13 hours to open up access to a resource is well worth your time when all they have to do is re-wall the hole you made to access it? You can't kill their claim (aggressive village declaiming is removed), and you'd need to re-bash the wall each day (leaving plenty of nidbaneable scents for anyone who happens to notice and feel virtuous) to maintain access. Not sure, might even need to resiege if the wall sets fully in hardness at some point.

It's a completely unfeasible amount of effort for small claims that hold a resource like this inside. Claims and defenses are cheap to setup, which has done wonders for making hermits able to access the game without getting griefed out constantly. But the side effect is that the effort cost to claim/hold a resource compared to sieging one is completely borked unless new rules are added or sieging is fundamentally changed.

What about just making it so that You can bash 4 times faster a claim that has natural resource under it or very close to it?

It would make villages rethink their claiming strategy (there's always other direction to claim?) and make natural resources siege-able.

It is for sure a hard topic to discuss. Even if you made the resources unclaimable you would still have to deal with walls/circular shaped claims around the resources (as stated earlier in the post).

Randomly spawning non permanent resources seems to me to be the best way to handle this.
This would allow resources to still be claimed, but not forever. You would constantly have to be on the lookout for resources, especially in bigger villages.
You can claim them as your own if you wish, but other players still have the chance to find the newly spawned resources.

Will consider authority drain from wonders, and no crime enforcement.
