Just a reminder that bot abuse has had negative consequences in the past: viewtopic.php?f=39&t=51156

yeah but it doesn't have anything really going for it right now does it? There is nobody actively looking for people using bots, the only people who would report them is people with proof of it because not a great deal of them openly discuss using bots publicly. And if someone does say something its just ignored. Even if its for the players profit with irl money.

You can see it with the "fighter" characters that are being sold left right and center right now. they are obviously the result of cheese and pepper farm bots yet nobody gives a shit and the player base is starting to realise this. "honest" players feel very little point in trying to really play the game now because ultimately you lose the fight against bots every single time. Whether its quality race or stat race etc, theres really nothing a player not using bots can do against those who are.

Not to mention this in the Q&A:
Our philosophy has been, and remains, that we – rather than spend our time fighting losing battles – should focus on building a better game with fewer incentives to bot. We try to take botting as a sign of a broken game mechanic, rather than as a sign of broken players.

Which is basically a fuck you to anyone who has an issue with bots since literally every single mechanic in the game is a fucking grind and in no way incentiveses not using bots.

Why are you complaining just pay 200-400 dollars for a fighter character. Didn't you know this is a pay to play game?
If you have been around long enough you will remember many people admitting to botting and there is the famous village that is ran by bots that has been talked about many times in different chats. If you are involved in any way with the haven community you will know who the botters are. I never saw a reason to report anyone since nothing gets done unless some exploit is used.

The bots that are destroyed by J&Lo's efforts:

-lumberjack bots;
-miner bots;
-ore/stone/whatever carrier bots;
-crafting bots (the most advantage-giving ones);
-land leveling bots;
-milking bots;
-destruction/building (partially).

The ones that are left to deal with are mainly fueling + farming bots + some other ones I kept reporting them in private for a long time. And here you go. I wonder what would happen when the botting would be eliminated. Would the losers then complain about the stats? Oh wait...

Good job getting those bots removed. Proud of you. You are now officially part of our loser army.

A loser because someone wants to make the game better for the masses rather than the few. Good one.

The reason for this is because everyone knows there is no point in manually trying to achieve things like Q1500 anvils manually because bots will have it done in a much faster time frame. Same with generating those fighter characters that are being sold with botting cheese etc.

Then you have people selling things that bots were used to achieve to honest players for IRL money. The game shouldn't be a money maker for those exploiting bots, this is literally the only game I've seen that doesn't seem to care about people selling accounts and profiting off the game with the devs receiving no cut of it. and the idea of paying 200-400 dollars for a fighter that was made with a bot should scream countless reasons why botting is a HUGE issue in this game.

Money maker? What? Do I not know about something? Like people purchase tokens for IRL money, sell it on market to get money for food and stuff? They cannot resell the same token somewhere else, or even if, they won't make bigger profit than official shop which means, SOMEONE HAVE TO BUY THE TOKEN FROM THE SHOP. SAME GOES FOR HATS.

Cheese bot? Please, making cheese is easy, the only problem is either A resource or B timing, which for A is about how much You can handle and B the gap is wide enough that no one should complain.

The problem is not paying 200-400 dollars because even if You take that "feature" off, it still gives an option to endlessly eat with proper setup so please, stop crying. You make a hugger problem from this than it is.

But yes selling accounts it is a problem indeed.

Cheese bots aren't the thing. It's the pepper bots.

I've had several people offer me things on discord for irl money opposed to GQ when it comes to trade. And every single time it's less than the tokens would cost. Ie: 4 tokens or $15

RMT is a problem in every game. To think it doesn't go on for games like EVE and WoW is just being willfully blind and/or ignorant. The purpose of introducing the "subscription token" is to set a cap value and decrease the profit margins of RMT to the level where a person can't make a living off of it. There are going to be rich and poor countries for the foreseeable future, though, so as long as someone can live on a few dollars a day, then someone is going to find advantage in it. Unless Blizzard, EA, CCP, Perfect World, and others can fix the world's economic issues, they won't be able to stop RMT.

I say let's just drop the argument as the thing that is "ruining the game." I say you either accept it or quit playing MMOs. And if you can't freely trade in a game, it's not really an MMO, even if there are millions of players and you interact with them in some method (ie a lot of these mobile strategy and rpg games).
