Well the problem with wild dream is that it already has a use. Why not use many of the useless resources.

Fits fine in my opinion. Trolls give nightmares when you are weak and don't know how to deal with them.
Once you kill the troll you conquer your nightmares.

your taking something literal and trying to make it metaphorical.

there is no precedent for trolls being involved in dreamcatchers. dreamcatchers are even lower in tier than beeskeps when it comes to production. why would you need endgame parts to help harvest them faster? why not suggest a tier two version of the staff? why do troll parts need to be the only option?

you have claimed its overpowered because it helps you harvest dreams faster. by that reasoning, the butchers knife the scythe and sheep shears are all overpowered. none of them need troll parts.

Not sure what I want to say to this, and know whatever I do say, it would massively derail or people would look at me like I'm crazy, so I won't, and will only say this short statement: "It's a video game. It's all metaphorical."

Are you ignorant to the fact that dreams are used in some of the best curios?

Sounds like a good reason to not make me production of dreams easy, quite the opposite.

And that is what OP did not want coming out.
A good reason to feign ignorance.

I've been thinking about remaking dreams to the effect of something like lore events being "collected" by the character experiencing them, and releasing them as dreams when sleeping in a bed, to be caught be nearby dream catchers, with quality being generated in more interesting ways than now, and perhaps even having different lore events leading to different kinds of dreams (as opposed to only dreaming beautiful dreams). The only objection against the mechanic that I'm not currently sure what to do about is that I want it to be relatively easy to build a new hearth fire, especially in the early game when one might not have a bed yet.

Dreams are relatively easy to farm without the staff. Amber has an extension to clean nearest dream catcher. Put on a hot key and you can mass farm them without an issue. Also don’t think they are that OP as curious as there are even better options than dream curious. Tbh, agree with loftar’s post and maybe allow beautiful dreams to be automatically generated but there will be different dreams like nightmares, joyful, common, ect dreams which turn an already full dream catchers dreams like beautiful into one of those when a hearthling sleeps near it and change the recipes to use the special types of dreams rather than beautiful dreams.
