I do agree that water should not all be connected. This would be better than nerfing boat speed or making it require tar, and give an actual use to wagons.

IRL rivers are connected too. Only inland seas and endorheic basins are not.

I'm much more concerned about the extremely low cost of bridges on narrow rivers (you know, those "Cross the River" roads), allowing horses to travel anywhere without rafts.

They are connected via the sea or some big lakes. HnH has way too many connections.

You know you're talking about w9? Because in current world not all rivers are conected and you can't travell from one map corner to another via water.

Yeah I agree.

In addition to adding wrought iron, steel, tar, silk, gold, silver and glue requirements for boats, they should also make it so that your character can randomly slip off the boat while rowing, knocking itself out and receiving asphyxiation damage. Should also make it so that there's laser sharks roaming around in the rivers and if you're attacked by one you can get perma killed in one hit. Also when you fall off your boat you will get aggroed by 3-5 laser sharks, depending on the quality of your boat. Also there should be naval mines randomly spawning around the rivers of the hearthlands and you would have to drift around them otherwise they could blow up and perma kill your character, but if your character runs out of stamina while drifting they won't be able to drift anymore and will end up crashing into a mine and dying.

I traveled by boat from the southernmost edge of this world all the way to the north, all by river. It's all connected.
