The usual architectural term for a wall brace is buttress

Buttresses are architectural features built into the original structure. This is more of a temporary stop-gap measure for controlled demolition. Brace is appropriate here, I think.

Yes. I knew i heard that term, couldn't remember it and named it Brace instead.
