Books - great idea. I just see it differently. There should few additional items along with book: i) book shelf, ii) "library" that functions as some idol (village/real) responsible for local attribute/skill modification (e.g. learning, psyche, intelligence, will), and iii) "librarian(s)" - based on int/wil/psy and bound to a specific library. Visiting library grants the library more bonuses and the visitors gain a temporal modifications that, for example, last 2-7 real days. it may depend what books they read, etc. That pretty much it :)

In the original post already.

"A great institute of learning" -> An interesting idea, I must say. Not sure how I feel about constantly stacking on the bonuses, however. Feel like there's enough of that kind of creep already.

- Eh, no.

This is also an interesting idea, especially if it comes with steep requirements. But I have the same reservations I mentioned before... Bonus creep.

Avu: The end is near it has finally come to pass: I agree with Lunarius...
Shubla: There are also other reasons to play this game than to maximize your stat gain.

Judging by the immense amount of paving art I've seen done, the elaborate village builds, the colors and styles of structures implemented, I don't know that I can agree with that assessment.

Yea, both great ideas that flesh it out as a package. But with so many things unbalanced right now I have to agree. Down the road, when balance is achieved, I think would make an awesome addition.
Just my .O2... Taste, drink.., like/hate...

Just wanted to note that I like the idea. I just wanted to bring up some possible negative side effects, or at least discuss if anyone else thinks those are possible negatives. I guess I was wrong.
Opinions expressed in this statement are the authors alone and in no way reflect on the game development values of the actual developers.

The only negative effect i can think of is creating complete alt-training teachbooks. If it would be comsumed in process and become a subject of traiding, i'm not sure it's quite negative.
