Game mechanics can't be built around the idea of "Well people will just make alts". There's really no way around that, and to fully utilize those credos you need to build an entire new character. If you'd rather take on the burden of two people just to be a jack of all trades, more power to you. It definitely shouldn't be made easier purely because people would prefer to do everything themselves rather than play with other people.

That said they could definitely use some tweaks.

The squares are the ones I want, and the circles are stuff I wouldn't bother to get otherwise. Within those 3-4, the only bonuses I actually care about are:
1) Colum of inventory space;
2) Row of inventory space;
3) Speed bonus when chasing small animals;
4) +3% study speed per cave level you descend;
5) Reduced stamina drain from running in forests;
6) Traverse ridges faster.
7) 5% study speed

With the current model, these will take 550 quests. That's just for my main. I'm going to want a similar number on probably 2-3 other chars, like crafters and farmers... It REALLY quickly gets to a point where you ask yourself: "would I rather make pies for an extra hour to get some more strength?", or do the like 100 quests that take like 20 minutes each to finish my last credo to get an actually (sometimes) engaging and fun reward instead of +5% cleave damage, because each will provide roughly equivalent benefits short term.

I REALLY, REALLY like credos, but I'd like them more if they were either easier or just dumb fun roleplay stuff instead of things you NEED RIGHT NOW to get the full benefit from like +study speed, or growth/gestation speed(quality gain) on crops... Pls jorb, I don't wanna do 100+ quests for a credo again..

Maybe credo is supposed to be hard to get so that player always have thing to progress toward for full two year of world!

If you want to surpass the other men in this game, you must play more than him or play with more efficient strategy than him. This is true whether credo is in game or not.

I'm with Ysh here. I have absolutely no regard for those winging about not getting them all on one character, or "But I waaaaaaant these for all my characters."

Too fucking bad, there's a reason they take so long to get and I don't think anyone should be persuaded by that whingy bullshit. Congratulations, you've correctly identified the purpose of 100+ quests per credo and essentially having to alt to get all of them. Because you'll never get all of them on ONE character without an obsessive dedication to it.

If you don't think that's how it should be? You aren't paying attention to the intent of this mechanic.

The more I think about it, the less objection I have to things just staying the way they are.

this way you implement new ones and pick how many quests whether you think they should be hard or not and not the system now where fisherman is easy but if your crafter and dont pick it up early then its 100+ quests of fishing which is easy but soooo tedious.

This would mean to get all current credos its 690 quests vs 2100 quests, and tbh with contemplation change and food change its not going to be viable to get these in a decent timeframe.


This seems like a decent solution yes. People will get the credos either way but at least this way it will reduce the use of alts.

I look at the new world as ver 0.3 of credos. They need a ton of work, but are starting to gel as an idea.
