Geez, i'm sorry. I didn't think i'd get this much backlash for suggesting early game enemies shouldn't give mid-game wounds. Enough with the insults.

Maybe you're retarded?

Really dude?

Yeah well I'm only saying what other people are thinking. Clearly the mild mannered approach wasn't working.

Pretty sure severe mauling is an upgradable wound type. Basically all of the really bad ones can happen when stacked like that. Bats have always been notable for being able to stack wounds like that because the entire group can attack and basically do 3 upgrades on a single wound simultaneously. It's not exactly bats, it's how group aggro + "enough damage to do wound upgrade" mechanics works.

Wanting to protect newbies is fine, bats have always been one of the most dangerous critters to beginners (I've always said about 1/5th the world died on the patch they were introduced), but uh... why aren't you wearing bat wings? It's the first thing anyone with 20-30 combat stats should go do. It's part of what tempers their difficulty, the fact that you can be completely immune to their aggro.

Aah, that makes more sense, thank you.

My bat cape broke recently on a hunting trip, and shortly thereafter a cave-in caused some nasty wounds which left my SHP fairly low (60-70). I was scouting for metal and hoping not to get hit by any bats as i was not in any state for combat, one bat sure but not a whole gang of them, but RNG said otherwise. A string of bad luck, i'd say.

Yeaaaaaaaaaah the new armor mechanics makes bat capes kinda silly with their HP. I'm literally hunting bats daily just to keep my 2-3 friends in village in constant supply.

I remember studying bat wings... those were the days.

I got a 10 pt severe mauling from a bat because I fucked up while fighting it. It's fine. It doesn't get worse and it's not giving me debuffs so it's just a matter of getting deer and flax and it'll clear right up. And I made sure to start respecting bats after that injury and didn't get another mauling.

Off topic: leeches are awesome for bruise wounds.

How did you get these wounds?

If I remember correctly, these are compound wounds. You tend to get them when you get several small wounds like nicks & knacks.

Either HP needs buffed or the armor tag needs to be dropped. No point making armor with less than 20 HP IMO and the current armor mechanics. It just gets ate up too fast.

and if people are fighting with bat capes on... they should probably be sourcing materials themselves.
