The nomadic lifestyle should be full of hardship and danger.
If you want to enjoy the benefits of claimed land why not claim some land. You are no true nomad.
Try hiding your study desk in deep unexplored caves. Take the risk because your lifestyle is all about risks.

But I bet its more like you are too lazy to carry around a cart or wagon.
If you choose an intentionally harder difficulty to play on you shouldn't complain its too hard.

If you want the nomad play style difficulty to be easier you could put in some effort and make friends with villages around your continent and ask them to set up a cairn for you on their unused corner of village. You could even pay for this service.
Alternatively you can just set up mini claims all over your continent and park your study there when you are done for the day.

Theres a lot you could do yourself before asking for the game to change. But I guess thats the lazy approach.

But why is so bad to have a mini study to roam around? Does it create an unfair advantage for hermits or villages? Does it breaks the game in anyway? Or does it just gives a niche platystyle a small boost making the game a little more varied in the process?
If you want studydesk to work inside carts, make a thread about that this is about abother thing.

Btw if you go nomad you can't have a wagon because that means taming shit to pull it.

I really think its something that doesn't impact the current state of the game in any negative way, its not like suddenly nomad will be the new meta, even the noobiest hermit would probably have better stats and qualities (maybe not forageables). And if you get killed as a nomad you don't have any industry to get back up to your stats quickly. The hard part its still there its just a little bit less miserable.

Would be nice then, if you could only use that portable desk in you didn't have any regular desks claimed.

Because I want development time to be spent on the way the majority of people play rather than on 5-10 players.
And Its already entirely possible to do it and I have done it myself on occasion.

Just take your study desk with you. Takes one liftable slot in your boat/cart/wagon.

If you want to travel around the world completely without possessions it's not nomadic, it's homeless beggar playstyle. :)

Because the study desk is already incredibly strong. Adding something to the game that would make it even stronger is just stupid. Helping the one guy who allegedly "plays nomadic" is a dumb reason to add something. Nothing about having an item that functions as a study desk you can carry encourages "nomadic" playstyle.

I like the study desk and it shouldn't be changed. No, you can't transport it around in a wagon or cart and expect it to work.

However, the custom clients have features that will auto-load curios into the study. (Amber, at least, is just duplicates of what's there, not sure about the other ones.) This could be implemented into the normal client or even on the server so that any curios in the inventory get studied automatically or while offline. No extra packs needed, no special items... just whatever you can fit into your normal inventory. It at least seems more inline with what the original thought is than a special item.
