this is a good idea
why would anyone use more space when they can use less space?

Unless they have nothing currently planted, the damaged wouldn't be that bad.

You can already do that with milk, honey, and even turn a cistern filled with spring water into generic water with just a few drops.

The only reason I can see for that is indeed planting grass. But may I ask how often do you do that?
And here I should apologize for my spelling... But I won't! Deal with it :P

Pet food, preparation for compost. It's just that it's a pity to throw out, and it is burdensome to store because of the large variety.

Fodder from trough is already a converted stuff from different sources (wish we could convert animal entrails too) and it can be used for mulch, while grass requires specifically seeds. It's a little bit inconvenient to saw it with different kind of seeds at the beginning, but later this problem is gone. Although the "noob trap" described above isn't actually only for noobs. :) So I'm for one is against the idea of mixing seeds, milk, sweeteners, water and whatever else is mixable. One cupboard of buckets solves the problem of storing low amount of different kinds of seeds, granary - for bigger amounts.

PS: I haven't fallen in that trap yet, but in previous world I saw by a mountain spring a runstone with a cry of a man who ruined his barrel of spring water with a flask of common fresh water. Just imagine how frustrated he was!

But without mixed milk, you won't get butter-steamed cavebulb with psy only; and this is just one example. Hundreds of cupboards and dozens of granaries - this is not my option ;\

I guess everyone went through it once. Everything once happens for the first time.

When I read this thread title I thought about another method of ... Mixing seeds, if you will..... 8-)

Anyhow I don't mind mixing them if you can, say plant 5 of them and get a rng result of the seeds put in, or a random weed plant that just does nothing lol
Something died in my basement and gave me rubella

Why nothing? It can be a fodder or a mulch. :)

If it's a fodder that has more value than the 5 seeds, I could get behind the idea.

Fodders are almost always made from seeds, am I wrong? What do you mean if the fodder or mulch values more? You harvest a type of crop to your inventory, drop somewhere the lowest Q seeds gathered, replant with the highest q, collect dropped seeds, put them in through if that crop has the highest quality, or in a barrel for future use (that will never come and after a while those barrels get emptied and reused anyway) if not. I always get more fodder than I need, but here mileage may vary a lot. The surplus fodder goes into recycle bins to become mulch.

Then go to the next crop (which can be the same plant or not) and repeat. If you do not try to harvest and replant surfaces larger than 125 square meters each at once, it works flawlessly.

As a rule of thumb, everything that makes life easyer and less boring/grinding for players is a great idea. Everything that makes the game harder is crap coming from sadistic tendencies of Jorbtar helped by the few players with the same kind of disorders.
