Actually properly logging out takes a few seconds with the yoga/dhalsim animation.
Logging out should trigger the end of immunity and leave a 5-10 sec window where you could be aggro'ed.
Would solve that, i think.

We can preview what is behind the door and what is on the other side of the road. Why not preview what we are logging in to ?
To be clear, that means no char is spawned in the location and no collision box is created, but perhaps an eye should appear to indicate someone is watching.

No. Overpowered.

Constant scouting without ever being able to take action towards it because not actually logged in.

It is fine as is.

But client technically could do that without showing the player what's actually there to just retrieve which assets are visible to camera and have to be loaded. However, custom clients would probably be able to show assets as they are being preloaded, leading to the immune scouting mentioned above...

Oh come on, seriously...

I constantly fall asleep while playing, while my character is in the ocean on a knarr, on a boat in the middle of the lake, in a dugout in river shallows, on foot in the middle of forests, just sitting in a cave somewhere or even in some other guys bases. I know the risks involved, and it's a lot more dangerous, but this game is meant to be.
If you make it too safe by implementing some random thoughts of every person ever, it won't be the same game anymore and many(including me) would drop the game. It also wouldn't be Haven & Hearth by jorb & loftar, but a mashup of random ideas people have.

They just use our ideas to implement the stuff they want and so, suggesting ideas is good, but if they say no, drop it and move on.

It sound to me like you must get more sleep!

Probably better would be ability to peek, like doors/mineholes works. For example 10 seconds to see area around login point and autologout to chracter selection screen if not accepted.
inb4 billions of alts around village which monitoring everything with bots
Give a man a game engine and he delivers a game. Teach a man how to make a game engine and he never delivers anything.

-,- you have mentioned already that countless games has this feature and i think it's fair. As for the problems with it that you were talking about those were fixed long in thos games long ago...

Simple: You gain 30 sec or until you move immunity after your character appears in the world, you are unable to log out while immune, loging out already takes time so you can be agroed then, there is 5min cooldown to the ability so either stay in game for 5 mins or do not log in for 5 mins.

It's only fair to add this feature, dieing because of slow computer or internet connection is simply unfair.
I have never died or got ko this way, but i can tell it suck.
