Don't complain about houses that never need maintenance. We were all happy as hell when that was removed, and I for one won't ever dare forget that.

Magnifying Glass Burning

Postby Oreyeon » Wed May 15, 2019 12:24 am

Let me hold a magnifying glass in my hand and use it as a slower flint & steel. Only during the day of course.
Also should be the most powerful anti-ant weapon.

Merged with existing topic.

If it's on the "to do list," it's probably going to be some time before being added. Sometimes these get added while bigger projects are under way. It's never easy to say what direction development will go.
Opinions expressed in this statement are the authors alone and in no way reflect on the game development values of the actual developers.

Really good idea.
To not make it OP, it should only work during the brightest hours of the day, and take a bit longer time than firebrand.

What a bad idea.
Its either going to be too powerful or way too situational to be worth the time to develop.
We already have a lot of different ways to bypass rubbing sticks I don't think we need another one.

+1 This is not overpowered at all if it takes time and can only be used during the day. With those factors you would still need to have a torch to make it really useful.

Just make it take 10 minutes to light a fire with it. Just like in the real world.

As long as it only works outside during the day and takes longer than sticks, I don't see how it would be OP or too situational. Sticks would ideally be more time-efficient as long as you pay attention, this would just allow you to set and forget the process of starting a fire at the cost of extra time taken to do so, instead of alt tabbing and missing the firebrand window.
Since it only works during the day, you'd still need to carry around other firestarters. It's essentially an option to slow down the consumption of matches/flint & steel at the price of time.
