They did this. it ran for a while... it eventually failed or didn't provide any more useful feedback than the general community. i'm not sure which... or maybe it was some other reason. No matter the reason, the important point was that they closed it.
Around nine years ago. Idea was to have it as a filter to cut through the noise of the general forum, which worked quite well for a good while as the discussions there were actual discussions.
They were called the Inner Party. And then the devs decided it would be a good idea to invite Thundercat, the first LS of the first AD, an all Russian outfit who played the game exactly the way the cheating fucks who do it world after world still do: win at any cost. They even resorted to DDOSing and crashing the server (no I kid you not). That was World 3, 2010, so understand how many of these cheating/abusing cycles we've been through and how ineffectively they have been handled time after time that it is still worth the risk today.
Thundercat sought, as these guys still do, to win first and improving the game second and the IP just became a gold mine of info for him and AD of then.
I'm not for a moment saying he is the reason why the Inner Party fell apart and you should also know that I wasn't a member and am regurgitating what I was informed by a number of IP members at the time, and over time. They all made the same comment though that the real shit started when Thundercat got invited.
