My thoughts on the current development of Hafen

We have several larger projects in the pipe, but they take some time, and we're spread pretty thing over them. We have ambitions to work on the areas mentioned -- food, siege, combat, fast travel, the usual suspects -- and we fairly recently did a world reset followed by significant adjustments in at least most of them.

Minor patches to fix minor "random" things is not something we do instead of bigger things.

I don't really disagree with your sense of priorities.

Combat in particular is a big deal, we got burnt a bit on our last rework of it, and haven't had a deluge of good ideas for it, but we are building up for another attack on it.

Also: The most recent world reset was the biggest the game has ever been. I agree that the retention rate hasn't been what we've hoped for, but the continued interest in the game is huge, and I am (highly) optimistic about the future of development, and especially so if the client rendering project ever finishes. The prospects for future development are better than they ever have been.

I agree that progress is frustratingly slow at times.

i think the problem with these small updates is that we have no clue over progress on bigger things so most people just assume thats all you guys worked on, if you guys made small updates every small patch on bigger projects (screenshots showcase etc) people would be more understanding and optimistic.

There was a fall colored tree in the last patch note and no one even commented. :(

So basically, going back to old Haven's combat system. How could it be improved, in your opinion?

We have so weirdly colored trees that you cannot really say if its fall-colored or just weirdly colored.

Not true, though. Almost all leaves are shades of green.

We were too distracted by the beautiful wardrobes to notice the tree.
