its not why are people paying for meteorites, its why people are not selling for in game items, that is because sellers have no need for products offered by buyers, they have best tools, tokens, tons of gold

my related idea would create another group of "sellers" who would be random people, probably in need of new tools or gold or token, or whatever else
My mother told me Someday I would buy
Galley with good oars Sail to distant shores
Stand up high in the prow Noble barque I steer
Steady course for the haven Hew many foe-men,
hew many foe-men

People are selling it for in game items. Hats, tokens, large amounts of cast iron, large amounts of q400+ bones and large amounts of q50+ fine clay would probably be tradeworthy. Giant amounts of q200+ cheese might also work. I do mean giant amounts, though. Expect to pay several hundred bars of cast if you'd like to get your hands on some meteorite.

People are wrong when they say there's nothing to trade factions. Cast iron always sells, local resources usually sell, bulk silk always sells, good bones and clay always sell, pearls usually sell and cheese sells. Right now OS is buying fairy mushrooms so if you find some of those, bring them over. :D
