This would be great, and the only argument loftar has is "I think it's ugly." So, unfortunately the only way this can get added is if someone thinks of something that loftar doesn't find arbitrartily ugly. And I can't really think of one besides a simple toggle/menu option

There's absolutely no reason that hearthing after ko shouldn't be the default, at the very least.

A menu option is all I ask >.>
There are other things that can be done though. Bringing the old summoning system back, but adding restrictions in other aspects. For example, when people with the outlaw debuff log in, they can't aggro anyone for a minute,( or something, ) while red handed could keep people logged in at all times, and prevent hearthing. The duration of red handed should be reduced though really. 15 minute hearth prevention, then 45 min of no logging out, and while under the effects of any outlaw debuff, it takes 10 seconds longer to hearth.

The 10 seconds longer to hearth would be a way more threatening to current criminals than what you use.
Early world exploit: Put your hearthfire inside a cave, then hold shift to position a claim right in front of a cave. After 8 hours the claim will be unbreakable. Since your hearthfire is inside the cave, you can still get back inside, and leave, but nobody will be able to enter, effectively making you unraidable for the first 3-7 days. Enjoy

Hey you can delete this thread now, a technician came in and fixed my internet, so now I don't disconnect anymore. This no longer affects me so I don't care now :)

The fact that you can just die in the middle of a lake somewhere because your internet goes out for an hour is pretty dumb. Loftar has said that he doesnt want people account sharing but I very well could have died at least once already this world if I couldn't get on discord on my phone and tell someone to hearth my character because im stuck sitting on a river somewhere because my internet took a shit for 3 hours. Not to mention if the server crashes for a few hours when jorb or loftar aren't on to fix it and you're stuck waiting for the server to come back until one of them wakes up because you need to hearth your character.

Could, but probably doesn't. One can get around that by simply killing your internet connection. You can set up a desktop script to kill it and re-enable on a hotkey it with a 3rd party tool. Have a game that can detect even this (say with a 3rd party anti-cheat add on?), get a physical kill switch for the ethernet cable.

I'm kinda confused. The thread is about auto hearthing when you are not logged in. It does not matter if you dc or not, so I got no idea what nonsense you guys are talking about, lol.

Anyways, I say we keep things as they are. My connection is great now, so i'd love to keep every little advantage I can get.

"How to tell when a person has a bad internet connection or deliberately disconnects their system from the network in an online game?" RFC 1234 c1995. This is an issue as old as the Internet and online gaming.

Also: It's a tough balance, and just because you fixed your problem doesn't mean it isn't a valid discussion any more. Think of all the poor pvp kids out there with janky internet before asking it to be closed.
