You make a good point in the legacy worlds about the force summoning being the big deterrent to getting to crazy with leaving scents all over the place. I hold the opinion this is what we need to go back to. Get rid of red handed, get rid of nidbanes. But PvP as "opt in" by default? The griefing would skyrocket, I think.

Just delete pvp tbh, I get a feeling the nvidia crashes were just a vibe check to see how many players would be affected by not being able to pvp.

Next world add AMD crashes too.

Yes please, all of this. It would be so helpful to have some sort of mitigation for player killing. It's really crap when someone you don't know without warning comes through razes your claim, kills you and takes all of your leather and glue. You have to start over and you still have no defenses.

This is a really good point. Right now it seems like there is only one defense: build a palisade, never leave with your key. That's not fun or interesting; there's no choice there. It would be nice if there were more granularity and more options. Let me build a guard tower in my claim that shoots at people hostile to me. Let me have a summonable defending spirit that patrols my claim and will run interference when someone hostile invades letting me get away.

Keys don't matter if you have to go through visitor gates to get into your base. Which is how your base should be. Though don't go outside with your only copy, and usually only bring out slave keys.

I still think this is an option worth looking at I lose a lot of friends to pvp encounters and there are always new users on the forums complaining about it too.
