Im didn't measured their speed but it seems they are hardly making 8 mph on the videos i saw. And walrus can't execute sea elephants running techniques since it have 2 huge ass tusks.

hearthlings have incredibly heavy feet, poor flexibility and stumpy limbs according to haven lore, so I think the top running speed of a character is definitely not much higher than 8mph

so it makes sense that a walrus, while in an aggressive state, provoked and after a potential threat or meal would definitely be able to catch a hearthling

Why i am even bother to visit this forum?

the only thing sprucecaps deserve is a slow agonizing death at the hands of a superior beast of nature

+1, buff walrus speed

but how much mph does limbs add do you think????

check this out

this is very huge animal that can run as fast as a car

and I think if it was as small as a walrus it could go double this speed

even if limbs account for a 10x speed modifier it would still be faster than a human if we remove them

Articles I've read show that walruses can run very fast... In short bursts. When animals get reworked to have stamina, I'm sure it'll be added then.

Or perhaps mammoths? They seem a little too fat for a poor horse

honestly though now that I think about it are limbs actually even a speed modifier? look at turtles and sloths they have limbs and they are very slow

and look at snakes! very fast!

so I think no matter what angle you try to take on this debate you must accept that walrus are much faster than a hearthling

elephant is not a walrus

just because some animals are unique doesn't mean that limbs are not the thing that makes most of creatures fast

fatness is not necesarilly also the deciding factor, but in combination with terrible limbs it definitely makes very slow

for example there are some rare examples of 400 KG humans who only eat fast food in large quantities all day that cant stand up from bed, they can't move despite having good limbs

now, how much does a walrus weigh?
