The way FEP's work is not as a soft cap. They get harder to get progressively and their progression matches symbel and things that you can do to counteract the fact you need more FEPS.

A Soft Cap sets a limit and makes things get *exponentially* harder after you get above that limit. I.E after you get to 500 stats you then need to have double the FEPs to get to 501 then x4 to get to 502, then x8 to get to 504.. now i don't necessarily think the exponent should be that steep but what we have now is a progression mechanic not a soft cap.

Soft cap would be there if we soft capped by some value. Soft cap in this game means you take some kind of average between values. So maybe if someone stats is higher than n the effective stat(the one shown on screen too for psychological reasons) would be actually the harmonic mean between cap and stat. I've made quick graph how my proposition works when using n=500(too small IMO, but n value could grow with time or smth) and harmonic mean. On Y you have effective stat.

Edit also this kind of "soft capping" is also kind of hardcap because the effective value is at most 2 times n. So when n=500 you can raise effective stat up to 1000. But the catch is you will need infinite grind to do it, and it's fun thing for some people in our community so everyone will be happy I think.
