Stealing your boat or cart is a good point. I wonder if there is a way to tie objects like those to your character for a short time, say 5 minutes, so anyone that touches those objects would be committing a crime.

this will kinda ruin pvp - no ambushes, and vandals will always run away long before anyone gets near to catch them
