People willingly ignoring the "Allow KOing but not murder" part of this suggestion because they can't get a boner without guessing somebody's CON and abusing a bug to kill them.

I dont really understand the "if you remove permadesth, people will create 10 alts and block your base arguement". can someone explain how your ability to permakill an alt created for such makes a difference? If you kill the alt you just create a new and inherit and boom back in business. How does death stop this cycle any more then KOing the alt and having it get sent back to its hearth fire??

Perma death as a deterance for griefing IMO is like locks on a door, they keep the honest people out, but if someone wants to troll/grief you they are going to find a way.

I can see a valid argument that when you have a ture faction v faction showdown over a meteor only having KO could mean that someone KO'd would have no real risk in returning to the fight as the only risk is being KOd quicker and have the ability to always be present to stop someone from mining it??? I dunno never been to a meteor fight.

Just my thoughts

Part of the reason is not everyone is arguing honestly.

Good that you are asking because if you have tried to actually do this, you will know that there's 4 hours cd on inheritance.

Ko someone with <10% hhp => 4 hour login block for that person.

None of this is impossible to recreate in a non-permadeath mode. I agree it's not as simple as saying "you can never go below 1hhp", but it's not really that hard to fix up the small stuff.

My vote is for the exact opposite: let's go full banana mod.
By that I mean no ko protection, murder always on, animals that kill you more often, that can swim, bring back poison food and so on.
In short, a nightmare version that is as difficult as possible, where death is just around the corner.

Of course, I'm always right and you know that.

Right I had forgot about that, however you could in a sense replicate this through other means?

sounds cool but has alot of problems to overcome. like if we're removing cheesing animals, wouldnt every method need to be patched? such as cliffs, cave entrances, burrows, houses, mineholes, etc

also increased animal difficulty = even bigger gap between hermits and factions, since factions have the numbers to work together when hunting (if its even necessary given their gear & stats)

You never got any chance against factions ...

About cheese ... You cannot remove It completly, Just patch what can be patched .. But in the process we will harvest so many fresh souls ...
Ask Jorbo ...
"He plays His games, we play ours! To show our appreciation for so much power, we keep haven packed with fresh souls!"
