NERF STEEL LOCKS

Steel locks will be after at least 6 weeks. Most of the time we will have there metal locks which are easy to be lockpicked.
If someone will attach steel lock to some building then at this point you will have miners with 400 str + Sledgehammer so what is a big deal as you can bash that thing. Safe pali you were not able to bash when it was on claim.

Only exception with that I can see is watermill that will require thingpeace broken yet it will be easy lock entry to such "safe harbor" as it can only be near rivers.

So I would say stop crying, you will be able to hunt as always even it would be a bit easier for you as watermills will be spotted quite soon and you will be able to block those. Waiting for watermill spam :D

Water is in a lot of places, you can pretty easily spam out claims and watermills around your base / around the base of whoever you're fighting. Better argument I heard was "it'll be easy to bodyblock entrance with alts". That said: Are metal locks easy to pick with the stats fighters will have at that stage of the world? I know they're trivial later, but I'm not sure you can get stats to pick the lock before someone deaggros and hearths?

But like... why leave an edge case in? It's still safespace abusing. If we want safespace abusing to be allowed, then we shouldn't delete safe palis. If we don't want it, locks should go (I actually don't think we need anything other than wooden locks for all non-abuse situations). Pick one side or the other imo.

The devs, by their own admission, have forgotten why they even thought this was a good idea: viewtopic.php?p=961521#p961521

You're asking a lot for them to consider the implications of their decision.
This reminds me a lot of when they made it so that catapults could destroy walls.

Right, but I'm telling the community to make up their minds. Maybe the devs listen if there's a united voice... :lol:
