All the people you would want to steal from will use alts as containers or put their valuables in some place inaccessible like behind many many layers of palisades or deep in the depths of the mines.
It will end up being used to troll noobs who are already dying and losing shit without you interacting with them.
Personally I wouldn't bother to do layers upon layers of palisade, or hide everything at the bottom of the mines every time, when I can just check my perimeter as I used to do for wreckingballs. But if you want to, go ahead.
As for alt vaults, that's already been discussed how to possibly solve it (which IMO should be solved regardless of this specific system).

Anybody who does not know the system is liable to get completely screwed.
Like I said in my previous post, this is just Claim Bonds 2: Burglary Boogaloo. I'm tempted to simply lock this thread.
Isn't that what we do for everything related to crime or pvp?
We are forced to put up claims, build palisades with airlocks (up until 16.1) and safehouses with steel locks, make keys for gates and ships (and permanently leaving the master keys on an alt), and so on... It's all about mitigating PvP/crime risks.
This system is similar to how the Wreckingball worked, with one major advantage (to the defenders): the amount of damage is limited, as even if multiple people get in, all they can do is still just steal a few items. No killing, no vandalism, no dumping everything you own to the ground.
The Bond system was particularly bad because it was a hidden feature, which would lock you completely out of your own base, and the game itself gives you an incentive to always keep the bond on you, making it way more risky (imagine if it was the same for master keys, instead of having slave keys).
Trying to compare the two is nonsense.
As for people not knowing the system being screwed, well... that's the whole game. Those who don't know hunting would assume bows and arrows are the way to go, and that most animals (especially herbivores) would flee when attacked. Those who don't know oceans will sink with their ships. Those who don't know claims will have everything stolen, and plenty got fucked by gates/vgates or key system. I can go on but I think I made my point.
