Yes and I don't like doing numens. Over time numens will get worse and become more punishing as they add new items.
I'd rather just put on some medicine and sleep it off.
With this proposed system I bet people will be more willing to fight rather than logout and quit.

Snail is correct, no death = no reason to fight.

If you want to know how to incentivise PvP, ask people who don't take part to it. A poll could give valuable insight on what keeps players away from it.

For example, most players in my village (and some other non-fighters I've talked to about PvP) consider the combat system is incredibly clunky, or hate the fact that PvP (from what pvp videos show) seems to be way more about running than fighting: just a bunch of people running left and right, playing catch, landing the occasional hit, and then running again. And to achieve what? Usually nothing, as one side gives up or reaches a safe place. Occasionally a KO, so a tiny amount of loot. And extremely rarely an actual kill.

I would go as far as to argue that the lack of deaths in PvP might be one of the things that keep people away. What's the point of fighting your enemy if you can't (or likely won't) kill them?

maybe make it easier to die but instead you lose only 5-15% lp/feps?

You only lose 18 or 19% as is.

Nerds have been begging on the forums for just 1 more concession to make things safer for 15 years. The game has gone from "you get KOed, you die", anybody with 700ish strength being able to bash into your pali to kill you/break your shit, and needing to keep rams inside your walls to counter siege, to:

Nowadays I have not died to PVP outside of crashes/bugs in like 10 years because everything is so neutered, in spite of being literally the most consistently aggressive retard on the server. Also they literally removed siege from the game. I don't think the unique appeal this game has can survive many more "just 1 more concessions" without """losing its soul""" or some gay shit, if it hasn't already

Some or maybe even most of these concessions probably are probably very nice QoL with minimal impact, but in aggregate? So fucking boring. I would give up so much QoL for something interesting to occasionally happen, instead of quitting on week 4 every world because all that's left is tedium without risk or interesting events breaking up the monotony

i get what you mean but recently do you ever see ppl coming back after dying? even majority of players wouldn't recover nearly that much and the mechanic is convoluted. Its a mental thing aswell. Make it easier to die, reduce to 5-15% stat loss seems decent to me. You deeply tunnel vision yourself to use as example when you are a tiny grain of salt who spent a lot of time playing this and you are a exception.

THe game as it is today its much less cruel than before and everoyne has access to good mapping, clients, botting, game knowledge. All public tools, ppl might aswell use them and frankly PvP more.

Surely THIS 3% (18%>15%) concession will be the one, not just a further erosion of the primary interesting/unique part of this game. This is what gets rid of the totally normal attrition every MMO without major updates suffers.

An ye, I see people not quit after dying all the time. Actually, I can't remember the last time somebody I know has quit because they died. Basically everybody I know quits the whenever nothing interesting has happened for about 2 weeks like clockwork every world

That 2 weeks of no big fights/cool sieges/big raids/important people dying is happening faster and faster every world. Because of the concessions that are meant to make people play longer.

I can tell you that someone like me or my friends, which never did PvP, would not start even if death had no consequence at all (not even losing gear).
Why? Because the risk of death is not what keeps us away.

PvP looks super boring. and I would be forced to play with a client i don't like.
Even worse, it seems pointless to me. The only reason I see to join PvP would be to gain access to something precious or defend my own stuff. But siege is virtually non-existent (and pointless with alt vaults), and aside from meteor (which isn't a "must have") there's nothing to fight over.

To bring people like me and my friends to PvP, they'd need to make PvP interesting.
- Make Siege easier and remove alt vaults, so I have to learn to fight to defend my stuff.
- Make fighting for the Realm really matter to everyone living in it. Off the top of my head, limiting harvesting Localized Resources to those who live in the Realm would likely be a reason to push us to join the fights over territory. (doesn't need to be this, but you get the idea)
- Add more stuff like the meteor, and make it essential for progress. If I needed meteor to build a lvl 9 minehole, I'd consider joining the fights for it. Even better, make it decay quickly, so I can't just buy it from someone who stockpiled it when I will need it.

Only other reason could be revenge. But if I get killed, chances are I'm not good enough to get my revenge anyway. And the current (or even lowered) drawbacks of death, revenge is not really worth my time.

I feel like getting 80% of your hp in wounds is a lot more annoying to cure than regaining 15% of your stats. If i get wretched gore or something broken week 1 i'm literally better off starting over and getting more stats for less hunger with a better table on week 2. (ofc lp and credos suck)

Regaining 15%?
No, you have to regain 90% of your stats and that's the problem. 1 Week to recover a injury is nothing compared to the alternative.
