I am on the fence, Its a good experiment and I assumed once I found out about the time change that there was no thought behind it and we were the test subjects who signed up to figure out what works/doesn't work. I actually prefer the normal speed and if you think about it we have had years and years of balances to make that feel somewhat okay, each world was becoming a lot less meta, a lot less grindy and rushed. The one thing I think this actually helps with is new players and it gives them a better chance of not being found while getting themselves set up, How many personal claims have been saved, pali-bashers being too late to spot those walls. I knew as soon as I heard the speed up day 1 that when people will start to realise that they now have twice as much to do in the same amount of time. Wait until those farmers plant the same size fields and realise they are doomed to be in the dirt forever.
I ironically think slowing down the game is a better approach, And I am in the opinion that getting down to level 9 mines should a last month thing, I would argue that even getting steel should also be a "last-month" thing. Resets should happen a bit after the last dopamine hit from the last progression tech and while its somewhat fresh.
I think most of said this. but the speed up actually increases the gap between skill sets and group sizes by a massive amount, its a kick in the teeth for Hermits, especially those who play less then 2 hours a day.
In W16.2 slow everything down by half see what happens. 2 week minepyres feels good after this cancer. who cares if people don't get to lower levels.
