- Previous (and current) forums are, and will be, an unmoderated toxic shithole filled with the worst of the internet. Unlike other sites, you guys choose to do nothing about it. Earlier I was on the official IRC channel and one of the channel operators apparently linked child pornography to the entire chat. I was at work and luckily didn't click it.
- You're marketing an Alpha, or what Steam has prepared the world to know as "Early Access" - I can agree with paying a monthly charge if its worth it, but historically with Haven, its probably not.
- If this is your solution to bots, its a bad one. Now they'll just need to create an exponential amount of free accounts to cycle through each month - Chewing up more of your server resources.
- Until you can guarantee no bots, hacks, or exploits..... egh.
However, it's not all bad. I like the idea of a pay model to ensure consistent development and updates, better servers, and keeping the riff-raff and botters out. I will probably subscribe for 1 month and go from there.
EDIT: Another thought I just had, since I had no warning of a pay model, I spent the last month hyping up the game to a circle of friends. It took a lot of convincing with the russians, bots, hacks, and perma-death already - The surprise pay model was the nail in the coffin.
