Hog-tying animals and people would be pretty great.

Subdued without killing them.


That said, what player would still want to play if they were tied up and captured with no hope of escape?

There would have to be some stamina draining "Break free" option, be it destroying jailbars or breaking free of ropes.

I like this idea, or really any idea that encourages anything other than murder to a weaker or vanquished foe.

Robbing, kidnapping, expelling.. the stakes need to be a bit lower and the rewards for defeating someone without killing them generous.
