Neopet autobuyer, Runescape bot to name a few. And those are the only ones that I know so someone that plays more multiplayers probably has a scroll worth of them. The only people catchas are going to punish are newbie botters and legitimate players.

Botters affect the core fundamentals of fair competitions like RMT, hacking and other things frowned upon. My effort/skill/time investment against the effort/skill time investment of other players. (yes one can argue that the time one can spend in games is not always their choice so there can never be full fairness but the full anything is rarely achievable so we need to strive instead for best one can achieve).

One alternative is to give the exact same bots to everyone but I explained in the past why this is pointless if you can bot everywthing and everyone can bot everything there is no game being played. You measure what? Who has most pcs running the game bots?

Removing tedium can make the game more fun for the ones that play it but remove too much challange and there is no game. When bots have no advantage over a player you are at a point where there is no effort required to play at all again no game.

Nuking botters won't stop all botters but it will stop some of them if we're lucky even most of them. A game with less bots is better than a game with more bots because it is fair to more people.

There are a lot of anti-captcha services in the internet

I'm sorry, please provide evidence of that. According to the main website of CAPTCHA and numerous other sources, current programs cannot solve it yet. So you think some kid sitting in his room making bots for a video game is gonna work so hard to achieve it?

Not yet, as stated above.

Let me help you, I understand using google can be a very difficult task.

One thing is sure.
That we must make botting NOT ALLOWED and PUNISH for anyone doing it.
If devs just say " we dont like bots but we dont care if you use them" doesnt help at all.
Sure we cant avoid all botting.
But atleast some of it. We could start by making botting not allowed on next world and nuking everyone doing it.

But what is defined as boting? Using script to click carrots into trough?

Unfair combat advantage? combat bots?
Finding natural resources that should have been found by other people?

All of this. Plus faster q rise of crops, cattle, and an endless stream of curiosities - all without any effort (apart from writing the bot in first place, but since that is software applying it to another character is free).

Nothing of this. There were no combat or resource searching bots this world. This is just the easiest reason for skillless people to excuse themself.
For the last argument ("many curios!") it is called envy.

Stated by who? As a client maker, bot engine maker and programmer i can state that this is possible.

Auto-curio client feature is botting too. Nuke everyone starting from now. Also, how can you differ bot from a person who does it manually?

There were most definitely archer bots for road travel interception.

And they were so unfair? Archers were unfair before they were fixed, but it is not connected with bots

Real people aren't going to camp a road block all night long with enough attention to shoot instantly the moment someone teleports in.

I think making combat bot wouldnt be too difficult. Or something that gives great advantage.
