Their eyes start to glow and then they breath fire when they see their own reflexion on a shiny armor...

wut about this?

Basic AI
wolves spawn where other wolves spawn to create packs

wolves can aggro for no real reason like badgers or boars

wolves are about the strength of badgers or boars with the agilaty of foxes

if a wolf is attacked there is a high chance other wolves will aggro

Taming
wolves can be tamed, but unlike other animals, you require certain meats (cheafly sausages(such as running rabbit)) instead of clover

tamed wolves will look different based on what the wolf originally looked like (wolves come untamed as grey, grey-red, white, and black(rare))

Rare wolves and curios
on a chance on wolf in a pack will be a black wolf, which is significantly tougher

if killed, it will drop the curiosity 'Red eye of the Damned wolf'

they should definitely be stronger than that why would you used cooked meat in the form of sausages to tame wolves wouldnt it make sense to use raw meats the name for that curio is oddly specific

Tamed wolves could be used for herding sheep like they would traditionally do and possibly defend you.

yes thats definitely what they did traditionally the classic herding wolf herds wild sheep instead of killing them this would only make sense if the wolves turned into dogs when tamed i still dont know what i would even need herding for not to mention that it would be a cluster to program into something useable

I literally have never run out of Hedgehog curios since the patch. And I'm not doing much foraging. If you're looking for a hedgehog - Mossbrush is your biome.

Regarding Wolf packs.
    - They should be a widely-spread, moredately easy avoidable territorial animals (i.e. if you see a wolf pack you know you shouldn't go near unless you're going to confront it, but you should also know they won't wander far off their spawning point).
    - They should be lootable for something that would be more valuable to end-game players than to starters/midgame ones (so endgame players would engage WOlf packs despite the danger they pose).
    - They should, if confronted, pose the same level of threat both to sprucecaps and to endgame plate armor wearing hunters.

If you have suggestions for Wolf Pack AI to meet these criteria, please, kindly share. I'm only seeing this meta-creature as it would be viable in-game, without means of how would it be better to implement it.

if the posed the same level of threat to all players then they would be killable by all players thus making them less valuable if you mean that they should be endgame mobs then yes i agree the issue with all of these recent suggestions is that they dont take into account how easy it would be to hunt from water

an example ai would be something like this
  • spawn only in forest bimes
  • increase spawn near caves
  • spawn in packs similar to deer
  • include 1 alpha wolf which would be stronger than the rest of its pack
  • dont let idle wolves path too far away form pack wolves
  • if player agros wolf then rest of pack attacks as well
  • if player is in the water then the pack runs
  • if the wolf gets too injured it will run away
  • if player targets and attacks another wolf then the injured wolf will come back to attack the player
  • increase wolf damage when near the alpha
  • make non-fleeing wolves take reduced damage from arrows
ez money
