I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks Hasta has some sort of mental health deficiencies.

This EXP system is pretty awful. It's also rather painful how inherited characters get none of their old exp back. Going from 32k to 2k in the time where you're most likely to be crunching curios is a huge killer. This also makes me think back to a previous well constructed post: Tedium, a Feature.
“We still, alas, cannot forestall it-
This dreadful ailment's heavy toll;
The spleen is what the English call it,
We call it simply, Russian soul.”

An idea to consider: Tedium, a Feature.

The fact you get like none of it back after death is the worst part of new system. Remember back in legacy when people could just rebuild a lost char in no time. That's why there was so much more warring between factions and people were more ballsy because if you lost a guy you could just get another, But with this system you can't rebuild a char instantly like that because you can't grind curios. First thing you do is you have to go out and get enough exp to start spamming mirks and that can take forever. Not being able to rebuild chars quickly is one of the reasons why hafen doesn't have the PVP legacy did and this exp system is one of the great contributors to the death of PVP.

I've certainly shared a similar sentiment. Something that small can create a huge barrier to restarting the grind. And when you get enough barriers built up, you can end up choking the entire process.

@OПЕР probs you should put me into your sig just like that dude "Burinn" did.

@op I can't say I got my exp dried out after some sort of leave back in w8; i've been playing actively (like, 8+ hours/day active) and yet my exp went to 0 with no lore events proccing no matter what I'd do.
Curiously enough, I tried to search for my questions on the matter but can't seem to locate them with forum's search engine.

Is that what you were looking for?

Infectedking isn't wrong. While the system works swimmingly for the majority of us there are outliers that pop up semi-frequently. As the system relies more heavily on chance than most other systems and we can't simply flood the probability with attempts, when you're fucked you feel very heavily fucked. In these scenarios I feel the algorithm may need to be tweaked to be more forgiving to players who just can't catch a lucky break. Afterall, a system that affects such a core aspect of the game can absolutely inhibit a player in a way beyond their control, shutting them out of the game entirely. Losing progress not because of your actions or the actions of others, but because the game doesn't like you today feels lame.

That's a pretty good way of putting it.
