...and how is someone supposed to know about inspecting like that in advance of experience, especially when there are plenty of things where inspecting yields no results such that you become convinced that inspection is borderline worthless?

Heck, how does it even make sense to inspect something to know when it's going to refresh unless your character has experienced harvesting a resource several times already to get an estimate on how fast it operates?

The same thing goes for hearth magic. Again, you're explaining a mechanic that people have no idea that it would even be feasible.

This isn't a tantrum. This is an understanding that clearly, you have inside information on how things work, and you can't expect regular players to be familiar with that. If you do expect them, then they'll just leave en masse and find you condescending. Yes, there's a wiki, but using it like that ruins the experience of exploring the gameworld.

Just found brimstone, hop cones, and raw wild beef while fishing in deep water on a boat.

Why should I find any of this while going fishing to... find fish to eat and grow?

For all the game's realism, this stuff is really cartoonish.

I think its quite realistic.

That's the part that really doesn't make sense. If you exercise a lot, you get hungry to replace the carbs you burned and make space for protein and vitamins to be used in your body. If anything, running (I don't sprint unless catching rabbits) should help your hunger go down faster.

This game is not realism simulator after all. Running was bad because literally everyone just botted their chars to 600 str with cheese in one day.
If you dont like current mechanics then fuck off. Devs are not going to change them back.

The odds of that happening are very slim, but I've only caught ~20 fish so far while catching 4 non-fish items. I'm excluding the clay I caught since that kind of makes sense from fishing on the coast.

On top of that, what they throw should fall to the bottom or float to the top. Stuff doesn't have neutral buoyancy to mix with.

You do realize that some people play games in groups, and consider whether to bring other people of the group into the game, right? I have other friends playing the game currently, and we're discussing whether or not everyone in our group should play.

Talking like that doesn't really help your side of encouraging third parties to join.

In any case, yea, the game does emphasize realism a lot. That's the point of permadeath after all and tolerating people taking each other's stuff easily before claims are staked. The addition of hunger on top of energy is justified supposedly by realism as well.

If people are botting their characters, then the devs should deal with it in a way that doesn't affect legit players...

...but hey, if the game isn't legit, then maybe my other friends shouldn't tag along anyway.

Tell your friends to go outside if they seek for realism. Seriously. This is MMORPG inspired by Slavic and Germanic myth and legend. NOT A FUCKING REALISM SIMULATOR. Understand that. If you think it sucks why you play? If you have some way to prevent botting then please tell it to devs instead of demanding them to know what to do. Because they dont.
