In fact it is, but you have to be lucky to find a suitable, completely strange totally flat spot to place a house.

So the request is reasonable: to relax the rules for flatness a bit so we can build there easier.
The question raised: how relaxed should it be?

Exactly and the realism argument Burinn is trying to use is never a good argument on this forum, it's applied on some ideas and completely ignored on others meanwhile we have plenty of unrealistic or totally out of the realm of reality mechanics in this game already.

I would say if you are unable to place a structure on a spot when it snaps to grid but are able to do so with some tedious ctrl placing then it should just be buildable in the snap to grid spot anyways.

If you're more specific about what buildings you'd like to see changed I could perhaps look at it.

My guess is, given you wait a moment for comments to gather, all of them (and none - both at the same time) - my vote is up in the thread.

Housing stuctures mostly, there's plenty of terrain that looks almost entirely flat and the house graphic generally looks unobstructed with no overlap in the terrain yet "the ground is not flat enough"

I like the mountains of Salem....very difficult to cross, where you have to climb, etc...could be good on H&H too.

What if you ad building/construction called "Foundation" that takes stone and can be build on (reasonably) sloped terrain and provides flat terrain for house etc. to be built atop of it?

Probably requires object-controlled objects though see we won't see this before bridges in any case.
