almost everything i made had the memories before i even knew what they were. i thought it just meant i handled the object while injured or something. now that i know how it works i bet it came from looted tools/workstations and now i'm dropping various materials and tools with memories of pain to spread further

but i can ignore it, once you see it 100 times you stop seeing it really. if more things like this get implemented the UI could get crowded though
