The purpose of introducing the "subscription token" is to set a cap value and decrease the profit margins of RMT to the level where a person can't make a living off of it. There are going to be rich and poor countries for the foreseeable future, though, so as long as someone can live on a few dollars a day, then someone is going to find advantage in it. Unless Blizzard, EA, CCP, Perfect World, and others can fix the world's economic issues, they won't be able to stop RMT.
I say let's just drop the argument as the thing that is "ruining the game." I say you either accept it or quit playing MMOs. And if you can't freely trade in a game, it's not really an MMO, even if there are millions of players and you interact with them in some method (ie a lot of these mobile strategy and rpg games).
Nobody said it doesn't happen in other games. I said other games arent publicly ok with it. They actually make some attempts to counter it by either banning accounts that have been sold or banning players that use RMT. IMO, saying "accept it or quit MMOs" is a shitty attitude to have towards players expressing or debating concerns over what some consider major problems in the game.
