This wouldn't do any thing at all. How many years did it take them to add the quality to items in an inventory without having to hover over it? The issue is that they legitimately believe the way default client functions, the good and the bad, is how the game is "meant" to be played. Using the QOL features of custom clients would likely only reinforce that position, as Jorb literally considers tedium a feature.
And yes, most people don't want to go back to default from Amber, and people using Default are "happy" because they don't know Amber exists. However, let's not forget that custom clients came into existence because people were unhappy with the way default functioned. If you went back in time and removed custom clients and made the game closed source, you would still have people complaining about all the tedium and lack of QOL optimization of the default client. They just wouldn't be able to do anything with their complaints except quit, simply.
