Even if you do see them escaping, the runner needs to have the brain of a nematode to not just speed-buff out of there.

I don't really think the shortcomings of the siege system is an argument for removing this mechanic, rather it's only a reminder that a better siege system would be nice.

you and the other larpers' vendetta against roads and most other quality-of-life/playability functions will kill this game, mark my words.

Look, here's the thing. People's inability to use legacy charter stones for their intended purpose (bringing in newbies from the creation room and helping them get established.) cost those of us who like shepherding our newbies our most abundant source of them. (No, the forum is in no way equivalent) so consider our vendetta against fast travel of all kinds (aside from horse, boat, Knarr) our crusade for revenge.

Sevenless: We already know real life has some pretty shitty game mechanics, it's why we're here instead.
Avu: The end is near it has finally come to pass: I agree with Lunarius...
Shubla: There are also other reasons to play this game than to maximize your stat gain.

Nice idea (hint: left of the opening bracket is a joke):

No one asked for that.

Please don't include me in this. My argument against teleportation has nothing to do with charterstones being removed as public (the listing in the creation room, which had been removed as dickheads repeatedly built boxed in ones to trap newcomers out of spite) spawnpoints - but is based on the long list of downsides it brings for a MMORPG when overused (which I think it is in H&H).

I wasn't actually trying to directly implicate you on that specific point, it was more a tongue in cheek "You're why we can't have nice things" comment. I absolutely agree that it's overused in just about every MMORPG in which it has been implemented, and is especially inappropriate for this particular setting. We HAVE fast travel. It's horses, and boats, and knarrs, and all the vehicles we have which accelerate our ability to move people and products more quickly than by foot. It also means that we see less people in the world because they aren't traveling, they aren't staying local, they're just teleporting to their destinations.

Fast travel is a pox.

Also: I absolutely agree about the people being dickheads, and that's what I'm upset about on that topic. I lost a valuable way to help people find their way into the game and enjoy it (people like me, who didn't go to the forums for a significant period after starting to play the game but just dove right in.) My first village in HnH was built almost entirely out of people I met at the charter stone.
