On one hand you'll have people like Never neverland who will get in their member just so they can find out whatever exploity thing competition uses so they can use it too. It's obvious they won't report things themselves.
Then you'll have the others who will not share anything sensitive or of any real meat because the opposition will use it.
The larpers will never agree with the grinders.
The grinders will make veiled allusions on their arcane knowledge without actually providing workable intel.
And to top it all off jorb and loftar will ignore all the input that does manage to get through all this because it's too much work to change and tl/dr. Or they might get around to it in 2 years after the game changed enough that people won't want it anymore anyway. I foresee great success.

And in case it's not obvious it will be same exact shit as the general forums.

a man need only strike another to make him evil."

This is a quote from a song I think, and it's driving me nuts because I can't remember it.

Not entirely true. it's gone fairly well for CCP and EVE, but then it's the players that pick the representatives, not the devs.

The fact is that the devs do have a select few they will listen to more than others. People that can effectively express ideas and opinions, put down facts and figures, and do it in a means that isn't toxic or infuriating. This is true of every game. They don't need a select group of players for a private forum. They just need a few people they can trust to point out good ideas, useful critiques, and real issues.

I like the idea of players picking representatives.

Because democracy is so great in real life too.I mean the population is small enough that it won't be a clueless fools delivering their vote to the best bullshitter it will be biggest factions pushing their people and winning on size of their membership alone..

And despite that small number... it would be... or the other form where it's the cronies that get elevated.

yes, democracy sucks, but despite our enlightened status as thinkers, nobody has come up with a better system yet. I'm not trying to encourage such a system, only pointing out that such a system can work, but it takes tens of thousands of dollars every year for CCP to make their system work. (And to point out, they just had a huge "breach" in the system along with a lot of player backlash.)
Opinions expressed in this statement are the authors alone and in no way reflect on the game development values of the actual developers.
