I do not think player retention problem is due to more powerful players overwhelming hermits. The complicated game its steep learning curve could probably be blamed!

It's a separate matter to me.

1) People who leave Haven because it's difficult, grindy, or whatever.
2) People who know the game well, but they decide to stop playing the current world and wait for another.

Steep learning curve, wonky game mechanics with no explanations given whatsoever could be blamed for the lack of new players (first group). The second group already knows what to expect from this game.

What I meant is that being unable to compete with your stronger rivals will cause players from the second group to quit the current world, in hope that the next one will be more successful. Or they'll just avoid fighting altogether.

Both things make the world die faster.

Lol noobz, no one fights with hermits, no one wants them crumble to the ground. Most ppl have fun with group PvP and this change could give more thrills to it. That's it, if someone KO's hermit then whats the problem, he loses his 5% and rebuilts it fast, I as a hermit haven't been KO'd by anyone once, I highly doubt that there are hermits that get KO'd over and over. If such hermits exists then it's their problem, they could just move their base somewhere else...

First of all, we need to make a distinction between being KOed and being KOed by a player. Because plenty of newbies get KOed by cave-ins, animals, and so on.

Second, the fact that YOU didn't experience it doesn't mean it's not an issue. Just about a week ago our forager (small group of 5 people) has been attacked and KOed by a group of 5 guys that had clearly no reason to attack him (given they have WAY better gear than we do, and you could see it just by looking at it). So he would have lost his 5-10% stats because someone else feels like being an ass?

Third, and most important, I get that you want to make group pop more "thrilling", but I doubt this would (since the top players could just keep everyone else down by constantly KOing them to make them lose their stats) and it would also heavily affect everyone who isn't part of that world. You want to make PvP more interesting? Great, find something linked to either PvP skills or that matters only to those who do PvP repeatedly. (for example, if this suggestion was for PvP KO only, and it was only triggered if you get KOed more than once in -let's say - a month or so. That would greatly reduce the downside for average players, while still being something to keep in mind for those who spend their days looking for fights).

absolute shit idea, if you're such a tough boy enable murderous rage and actually kill people instead of trying to make this shitty thread trying to seduce devs to make shitty changes so you can remain a pussy and inflict big damage while being safe yourself.

What are you still talking about? This was either an obvious trolling attempt or a brainfart of entitled and oblivious "peeveepee-er" who had his viewpoint on this game narrowed a tad too much. There is no way this suggestion will be implemented, and there is no real (not delusionally fantacised about) reason for it to be.

Yes, the meme about big factions roaming around ganking hermits has been a meme for a long time, it really gets old after a while when people bring it up every thread like its an actual thing that happens.

Why am I "safe"??? I literally wrote a post after getting KOd in meteor fight. The reason this idea upsets you so much is because you are one of the dribblers who is getting KOd in every single fight, you purposely bring shit gear and just get knocked out time after time because you know there is NO downside whatsoever to it currently. Murderous rage was the dumbest idea ever that makes absolutely no sense, nobody is ever going to use it.

Also I wasn't even talking about PvP only I was talking about for all parts of the game. This game has become so fkn boring since it got carebear treatment just to pander to the brain-damaged forum crowd who think the game is more fun if it is very easy but instead sucked the life essence of haven away and now its a glorified stardew valley mmo

factions or just raiders its not a meme. bb is frequently harassing people just because ash is beating their ass for hats and ad is attacking people living in other realms to stop auth or to force them to move. its not a meme too many reasons for it to be real and it is real. also rip my 10q nettle gear

All you want is be best in the game but problem is you're noobs and know that you will stay being noobs, thats why you don't want any means of punishment because you're aware of being only ppl punished, haven is meant to be tough game, when you die in minecraft do you cry like baby and go cry on minecraft forums? No, you just keep playing or get calm. Real problem is with this attitude, your fear of being KO'ed or even killed is irrational, it's just a game, one day you win, one day you lose. Start revising your actions, if you get constantly ganked then something is off and it's probably you're not paying enough attention.
Idk whats your problem ppl, just move if someone stronger tells you to move, don't ask devs to help you...

Murderous rage should give a meaningful stat boost imo. It should give you an advantage if your stats have been levelled by the combat scaling changes. You should expect people to be popping it in large fights and you should feel like you need to pop it too if you want your side to win

What is the point otherwise ?
